Students lead a focused investigation of asubject matter from ideation to completion.Students select a theme, develop a concept,and prepare the work for public viewing,portfolio, distribution, and/or exhibit. Thiscourse may include, but is not limited to,research, collaboration, installation, history ofphotography, making connections tocontemporary and community photographers,and critiquing with varied techniques.Processes, techniques, and media mayinclude, but are not limited to, video, film, highspeed photography, studio lighting, flash, longexposure, formal portraiture, large format,HDR, RAW processing, and digital output on avariety of media, including non-traditionalmaterials.Craftsmanship and quality arereflected in the surface of the print, care of thematerials, attention to compositionalconventions, the displaysetting, andexpression of ideas and feelings.Photographers use an art criticism process toevaluate, explain, and measure artistic growthin personal or group works. This courseincorporates h and s-on activities andconsumption of art materials.
