This one-semester course that examines the lifestyles and cultural patterns of different ethnic and racial groups in the United States from pre-colonial to present times. The course will analyze the patterns of cultural development, immigration, and assimilation of different ethnic groups as well as current political and cultural concerns. Students will also analyze the contributions of ethnic and cultural groups on American political and cultural life as well as the political impact of ethnic diversity in the United States.
