Southeast Career Technical Academy High School – Design Craft

This one-year course is designed to provide a wide variety of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional craft designs. A broad range of materials and techniques for design crafts are experienced through production. Students participate in art appreciation and critique, identify, analyze, and evaluate craft design. The historical influence and reflection of craft design with its regional variation are integrated into learning. Through collaboration and production, connections will be made between visual art and their academic studies, lives, and the world around them. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation for all cultures and their important contribution to our society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one Arts/Humanities credit required for graduation. Revised May 2018.
