South Technical Academy – Firefighting & EMT Year One

Our Firefighting and Emergency Medical Technician major is an academy level course that immerses students into academy level training. Using a wide range of firefighting and life-saving medical and diagnostic equipment, students develop their skills through real world emergency scenarios and field experiences.
Prerequisites: C or higher in all science courses attempted. A medical physical, clean background check, and drug screening must be passed and submitted by the first day of class. Minimum Core Needed Includes credits from ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies, PLUS up to 1/2 credit Health, 1/2 credit Personal Finance, and 1 credit PE.
