South Technical Academy – Law Enforcement Year One

Police Academy training is conducted through an array of training exercises, crime scenarios, self-defense, and fitness training. Students will learn conflict mediation and resolution, investigation techniques, and be trained in the use of advanced security related training equipment, including vehicles.
Prerequisites: A medical physical must be completed and submitted before the first day of class. Minimum Core Needed: 5 (After 1st Semester Sophomore Year), 6.5 (After 2nd Semester Sophomore Year), 8 (After 1st Semester Junior Year). Minimum Total Credits Needed: 9 (After 1st Semester Sophomore Year), 12 (After 2nd Semester Sophomore Year), 15 (After 1st Semester Junior Year).
