South Technical Academy – Cosmetology Year One

This is an exclusive high school program offering the same curriculum as a beauty college without tuition costs. All aspects of cosmetology including all hair, nail, and skincare services are included. Students learn in a full-service salon along with classroom instruction from licensed Cosmetologists. By graduation, students will have had the opportunity to earn all of the hours required to take their Missouri State Board certification exam to become a licensed cosmetologist.
Prerequisites: Pass all science credits attempted. Students must provide a social security number and birth certificate prior to June 1, 2026 to attain their student cosmetology license. After 1st Semester Sophomore Year: English 1.5, Math 1, Science .5, Social Studies .5, Minimum Core Needed 5, Minimum Total Credits Needed 9. After 2nd Semester Sophomore Year: English 2, Math 1.5, Science 1, Social Studies 1, Minimum Core Needed 6.5, Minimum Total Credits Needed 12. After 1st Semester Junior Year: English 2.5, Math 2, Science 1.5, Social Studies 1.5, Minimum Core Needed 8, Minimum Total Credits Needed 15.
