This course will engage students in a project-based learning approach (PBL) while providing a pathway to a vibrant venue for applying content standards relevant to student’s lives. Students will work collaboratively with their teachers, peers, and community partners to create projects that take into account student interests and align with content standards. While focusing on an end product, course standards are extended and applied as students become engaged in their learning. Students will complete problem/project-based modules focused on a current STEM and Humanities topic or project that is relevant in today’s workplace/world. This course will expose students to and develop skills in Problem/Projectbased learning, Socratic Dialogue, and collaborative teamwork. Once students complete a project, it will be presented to a public audience. This course will enable students to make the connection between relevant real-world experiences and core subject areas, preparing them to gain important work and life skills. Available only at Mary Moss at J. Albert Adams Academy and will be graded using S or U.
