In Principles of Manufacturing, students gain knowledge and skillsin the application, design, production, and assessment ofproducts, services, and systems and how those knowledge andskills are applied to manufacturing. Knowledge and skills in theproper application of principles of manufacturing, the design oftechnology, the efficient production of technology, and theassessment of the effects of manufacturing productiontechnology prepare students for success in the modern world.The study of manufacturing technology allows students toreinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to avariety of interesting and relevant activities, problems, andsettings in a manufacturing setting. In addition to generalacademic and technical knowledge and skills, students gain anunderstanding of career opportunities available in manufacturingand what employers require to gain and maintain employment inthese careers.
