SCHEDULE FULL YEAR. This course is an inquiry-based approachto learning about and making art and design. Students areexpected to conduct an in-depth, sustained investigation ofmaterials, processes, and ideas using the principles of design. APArt and Design students develop and apply skills of inquiry andinvestigation, practice, experimentation, revision,communication, and reflection.For this portfolio, students are asked to demonstrate mastery ofmark making through a very broad interpretation of drawingissues and media. Line quality, light and shade, rendering of form,composition, surface manipulation, the illusion of depth andmark making are drawing issues that can be addressed through avariety of means, which could include painting, printmaking,mixed media, digitally, etc. Abstract and observational works
