The purpose of this course is to enable students to enhance their proficiency in the foundations of Latin vocabulary and grammar and to expand their knowledge of classical culture. The content should include, but not be limited to, the following: communication in Latin using reading, writing, and comprehension strategies, with emphasis on reading and writing strategies, perspectives, practices, and products of classical culture, application of knowledge of the Latin language and classical culture to further knowledge of other disciplines, comparison and contrast of the Latin language and classical culture with the student’s own language and culture, and influence of the Latin language and classical culture in modern society.
