Prerequisites: Director approval and basic profi ciency on a band instrument or rhythm section instrument Jazz is a performance-based course that introduces students to the fundamentals of jazz style, theory, and improvisation through performance. Students perform a variety of styles, including swing, Latin, and funk, while developing tone, rhythmic precision, and stylistic interpretation. This course serves as strong preparation for participation in Jazz 1 or Jazz 2 Honors.
