Grades 9-12 This is an elective to understand the media’s role in shaping our society. Students gain an understanding of the power and impact of various media on people and societies. The course is designed to be multi-faceted. Study a variety of media formats and the concepts associated with those formats. Study the historical development of the media, how economic, social and political issues impact various media, and the wide range of current media formats. A significant component of this class explores the impact the media has on the individual and on society as a whole.
