Salem High School – Advanced Educational Careers

(2-hour block) Grade 12 Prerequisite: Educational Careers This course requires instructor approval. Students in this course will continue their learning through work based experience while completing and meeting the final requirements for their chosen credential. \*Students will need to present proof of a negative TB test per state licensing requirements. Successful completion of this pathway will result in either a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA), which will qualify the student as a lead teacher in a preschool program upon graduation, or a Michigan Youth Development Associate Credential (MI-YDA), which will qualify the student for above entry level positions and pay in out of school day child care. Pursuing either credential will provide the student a myriad of experience with children.
