Rouse High School – Chinese II
Apr 2026 · 2nd Semester
Chinese II begins with a review of Chinese I and continues with additional structures, functions and vocabulary to increase language proficiency. Students will utilize Chinese characters learned from Chinese 1 in reading and writing exercises. Continued development of basic conversation skills is an important part of the class and is evaluated through oral activities of learned sentence structures. The goal of Chinese II is communicative competence in authentic, real- world situations. Students in this course will develop Novice-Mid to Novice-High proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing on topics dealing with people, places and events they are likely to encounter in everyday life. The cultural products, practices and perspectives of the target culture are integrated into all aspects of the course. Chinese II Advanced Course 5152ADV
