Accounting I provides students with a thorough background in the basic accounting procedures used to operate a business. The complete accounting cycle is covered for a proprietorship and merchandising corporation. Journalizing, posting, payroll procedures, and preparation of financial statements are a few of the areas studied. The course develops skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for individuals to establish an accounting system for a personal business or to further their education in the field of accounting. Students will work with an automated accounting software program.
Prerequisites: Recommended Prerequisite(s): BIM I or Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance
