Rouse High School – Instructional Practice (Ready, Set, Teach II)

Instructional Practice (Ready, Set, Teach II) covers a variety of topics including learning processes, special education, classroom management, college and career exploration, workplace ethics and lesson planning. Students will experience an extended field- based internship during this course with a certified cooperating teacher in local elementary or middle schools. A portfolio that will serve as a resource for teaching will be completed throughout the year. Participants of the Teaching & Training program are guaranteed a job interview with LISD upon completing a teacher certification program. ● Students may engage in off-campus work-based learning experiences and work with the instructor to arrange logistics. ● There may be costs associated with taking this course. ● Industry-Based Certification available.
Prerequisites: Prerequisite(s): Credit for Principles of Education and Training (Ready, Set, Teach I) or Human Growth and Development
