Round Rock High School – Chinese IV (Mandarin) (Advanced)

Chinese IV Advanced challenges students to apply their Chinese language skills with greater depth, accuracy, and sophistication. Students will engage in extended conversations, produce detailed writing, and interpret authentic texts across diverse cultural and global contexts. The course emphasizes critical thinking, cultural analysis, and advanced use of the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication. The expected outcome of this course is to develop proficiency from Intermediate-Mid to Advanced-Low. This course is conducted primarily in Chinese. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Chinese level III, achieving an Intermediate Low to Intermediate Mid proficiency level, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency as determined by the district.
