Round Rock High School – Chinese IV (Mandarin)

Chinese IV builds upon the skills and cultural knowledge from previous levels, with an emphasis on refining communication skills and expanding into more sophisticated language use. Students will continue to strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities through a variety of themes that connect to personal, societal, and global contexts. They will practice Chinese across the interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication while applying culturally appropriate practices and perspectives. The expected outcome of this course is to develop proficiency from Intermediate Mid to Intermediate High. This course is conducted primarily in Chinese. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Chinese level III, achieving an Intermediate Low to Intermediate Mid proficiency level, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency as determined by the district.
