Round Rock High School – Chinese II (Mandarin) (Advanced)

Chinese II Advanced builds upon the foundations of Chinese language and culture introduced in earlier courses, with an emphasis on expanding proficiency and cultural understanding. Students will further develop their speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills through more complex topics that move beyond daily life into global, cultural, and community contexts. They will actively engage in interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communication while practicing culturally appropriate responses and behaviors. Students in this course are expected to reach a proficiency level of Intermediate Mid. This course is conducted primarily in Chinese. PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of Chinese level I, achieving a Novice Mid to Novice High proficiency level, or demonstrated equivalent proficiency as determined by the district.
