Honors American Sign Language IIl continues the development ofreceptive and expressive language skills across the three modes ofcommunication. Students will build on existing skills by adding morecomplex ASL grammatical features, syntax, and vocabulary. Studentswill continue the exploration of the culture of the Deaf community withan emphasis on ASl as a linguistic minority and particular attentionto the effects on the individual. This course may require DeafCommunity exposure and involvement. The expected outcome of thiscourse is to develop Intermediate Low to Intermediate Midproficiency. This course is conducted predominantly in ASL (withoutvoice).
