Riverside High – Art: Photography 2

Photography 2 is a course designed to further explore the art of photographic image making. Through demonstrations, lectures, projects and critiques, students will increase their knowledge of the art of photography, focusing on alternative photographic processes, both traditional and digital.This second-level course is for students with some background in photography and access to a 35mm camera. As a continuation of basic photography, it expands on photography technique, terminology, and basic darkroom skills. Students gain additional knowledge of basic and experimental photographic processes. Emphasis is on the care and use of photographic materials and equipment. This includes but is not limited to traditional and digital equipment and materials. An emphasis is placed on individual competence in taking quality photographs and developing quality black and white prints. PREREQUISITE: Photography 1 and teacher recommendation
