Prairie Trace Elementary School – AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES CAPSTONE 1-2

Students who have completed the first three courses of the Automotive Services pathway prior to their senior year can enroll in the Automotive Services Capstone course to gain valuable work-based learning experiences during the school day.  Students in this course will complete an internship with a local business to apply what they have learned throughout the previous three courses. Please note this is an off-campus learning experience, and the student will be required to provide their own transportation. Capstone is an optional additional experience, but not required to meet the graduation component. These programs are designed for students interested in a wide range of careers including broadcast, writing, journalism, digital media, digital design, and more. Students learn beyond just how to utilize a myriad of technologies to share information; they learn skills that increase employability such as organization, collaboration, time management, speaking and writing.  The GMN fourth-year students often become managers, editors, editors-in-chief, and directors in their programs.  Leadership skills are honed through regular practice. Our pathways lead students to the acquisition of successful skills to carry throughout life no matter their field of interest.  Additionally, the students play a vital role in the current events of our CHS community and ultimately our history.
