Students will apply the science and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to explain systems interactions: the flow of energy among organisms in an ecosystem, the control of weather and climate with a major emphasis on the mechanisms and implications of climate change, and the importance of biological and geophysical phenomena that support student explanations of chemical processes such as the release of energy.
