Course topics include Residential House Design, Plot Planning, Reading a Contour, House Construction Techniques, Foundations, Insulation, Exterior Siding Materials, City Planning Issues, Land Use Controls, and Eco Friendly Design. Experiences and instruction will pertain to residential design considerations; architectural styling; floor plan development; drafting of floor plans, plot plans, foundations, elevations, details, and rendered (shaded and colored) pictorial illustrations: and model building procedures, materials, and techniques. Through SY 2023-24, students entering high school in Fall 2021 are not eligible for Advanced Technology Education as a completer option (see AP 6150 Educational Requirements and Options).
