Pope High School – PLTW AEROSPACEENGINEERING (Aero)

Aero is a PLTW specialization course that immerses students in the science and engineering of flight.Topics include aerodynamics, propulsion systems, orbital mechanics, and atmospheric vs. spaceflight. Students explore aerospace design through airfoil creation, rocket launching, satellite mapping,and autonomous robotic missions. The course blends engineering analysis with industry-standardsoftware tools and physical prototyping.Projects encourage innovation in sustainable flight, includingwind turbines and parachutes. Students simulate mission sequences and apply both mechanical andcoding knowledge to accomplish tasks autonomously.
