Prerequisite: Application Process Credit: 1 Knowledge and Skills. This success-oriented course for students with special learning needs and general education peers. General education students will support a peer with special learning needs to work through the musical/artistic process to produce music that allows for discovery and expression. Students who would like to be a supporting musician will be required to submit an application and attend training upon their acceptance into the course. Training will prepare the general ed. support artist to be successful in their mentor role. Initial training will include confidentiality, cueing, prompting, and positive reinforcement and will continue throughout the semester with mini-sessions.
