The purpose of this course is to encourage students to make cross-curricular links to develop maturity of thought, appropriate to students at this level, and to achieve an understanding and usage of the English language. These skills enable them to express arguments, ideas, and opinions in a reflective and academic manner. Awareness of the wider implications of issues will enhance the quality of students' responses to the questions. General Paper is not a test of general knowledge. The key objective is for students to convey information and/or opinions in a way that is thoughtful, perceptive, and intelligent to the reader. Prerequisite: Placement is based on academic history and test scores.
