Park View High – MATA Television Production & Digital Moviemaking I SEM

This performance-based course is a rigorous, highly creative pathway designed to help students interested in movies and television shows to become acclimated with the technical, entry-level aspects of scripted and live production. This first semester covers an introduction to scriptwriting, storyboarding, camera operation, non-linear editing, lighting and audio production techniques, and studio control room operations for various types of single-camera scripted film and television productions. Students are introduced to a wide range of professional equipment and techniques, and receive instruction through a combination of lecture, theory and hands-on application. Students create major and minor projects for an ePortfolio that includes an individually produced, script-to-screen television commercial. This course is part of the Loudoun Governor's STEM Academy.
