This course is the second semester course in the MATA Administration of Justice sequence. This course prepares students for entry-level employment in the law enforcement and criminal justice system as well as entrance into institutions of higher learning in the related fields of criminal justice, political science, and law. The course explores career opportunities in the criminal justice community, understanding the constitution, substantive law, procedural law, and due process of law, and its impact on interviews and interrogations, developing probable cause, preparing search and arrest warrants, organized crime and criminal activities associated with those type of investigations, federal taskforces; complex criminal investigation, investigative techniques, the use of informants, wire intercepts, international terrorism and counterterrorism strategies, as well as advanced crime scene investigation. This course is part of the Loudoun Governor's STEM Academy.
