Park View High – Early Childhood Education Seminar I DE

This is a concentration course in the Human Services career cluster. This is a double-block course that might involve traditional face-to-face learning and virtual/online learning through Schoology. This course presents early childhood development through activities and experiences in early childhood, prekindergarten, kindergarten, and primary programs. Students investigate classroom organization and procedures, and use of classroom time and materials approaches to education for young children, professionalism, and curricular procedures. Students focus on children’s exploration, play, and creative expression in the areas of art, music, and movement with an emphasis on developing strategies for using various open-ended media representing a range of approaches to creative thinking. This course also addresses strategies for intervention and support for exceptional children and English Language Learners.
