This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the U.S. legal system, providing students with advanced insights into legal procedures and professions. Throughout this course, students will delve into the complexities of civil and criminal procedures, the nuances of the attorney-client relationship, and the critical importance of confidentiality. From the intricacies of investigating cases (discovery) to the art of presenting persuasive court arguments (closing arguments), students will engage in immersive, hands-on learning experiences. The course culminates in dynamic mock trials, where students will assume roles such as attorneys, witnesses, and jurors. Through these simulations, students will refine their critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills as they develop and execute winning trial strategies.
