Orange Grove High – Mechatronix 2a-2b

This year long course course is designed to reinforce skills learned in Mechatronix 1a by engaging students in interdisciplinary learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through a hands-on, project based approach. Students will practice implementation of industrial safety practices according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, refine skills in print reading and tool and machinery use, increase understanding of the applied physics concepts utilized in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, develop advanced logic concepts through AC and DC electrical programming activities, and further expand creative abilities through the design of multi-dimensional models using computer aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks which are then produced through production methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3d printing or others.
