This course is designed to prepare the student to access and use community environments as independently and completely as possible. Instruction in the areas of shopping, travel, eating out, and use of public services are included. Goal areas include, but are not limited to, appropriate manners and behavior in restaurants, ordering and purchasing, using public telephones, using appropriate buss pass I.D. and California I.D., personal safety and street safety, using arcades and vending machines, recognizing different types of transportation, locating important critical businesses, finding stores in the mall, and understanding family relationships. This course is designed for students enrolled in the Transition SH/SDC/Life Skills (Severely Handicapped-Special Day Class/Life Skills) program who have current I.E.P. Notes: Grade Range $1 8 +$ /Transition. Pass/No Pass

Prerequisites: Enrolled in the SH-SDC/Life Skills Transition Program with a current I.E.P.
