The course has a primary goal of focusing on real-world course material that will enable students to prepare for becoming a Computing Technology Industry Association $\\mathsf { A } +$ (COMPTIA $\\mathsf { A } +$ ) Certified Technician and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Office Master (Excel and Access). This coursework allows students to understand the parts and applications of a basic computer. Students will work on PC hardware, configure general PC operating system software, understand cabling networks, and develop end user office support. Students will perform tasks, such as computer hardware installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and basic networking. Plus, this course will enable students to learn and use Microsoft Office productivity tools to produce professional documents, create spreadsheets, build effective presentations, create and manage databases, and manage time and information. This course will not only prepare the students for the MOS certification tests (Excel/Access), but also prepare them for the COMPTIA $\\mathsf { A } +$ certification exams. Students taking this course also have the freedom to choose additional professional certification tests including but not limited to Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, SQL Server, Exchange Server), and Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA).
