Oakdale High – Mentor/Intern Program A

Non-CTE completer program. All internships/apprenticeships are now weighted. Students explore career opportunities that they may consider studying in a post-secondary setting. Students are placed for one or two semesters with adult mentors to explore the responsibilities, benefits, advantages, and disadvantages of a career choice. Each mentor is primarily responsible for the daily tasks and/or learning activities of the intern. Each school’s Work Based Learning Coordinator serves as a conduit between the school and internship site. An approved project is completed during the internship and requires the demonstration of both oral and written communication skills.
