This one-year course will give students hands-on experienceevaluating injuries commonly sustained by the competitive athlete. Itincludes all areas of sports medicine such as sports medicineterminology, musculoskeletal anatomy, evaluation, assessment,rehabilitation, and prevention of athletic injuries. Emphasis will beplaced on evaluating and assessing athletic injuries. Instructionalpractices will incorporate integration of diversity awareness includingappreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to oursociety. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of thiscourse. This course will fulfill one elective credit required for highschool graduation.
