This one-year course is designed for senior students who have successfullycompleted an Honors English or Advanced Placement (AP) English course intheir junior year. This course includes the study and debate of cross-curriculartopics from literature, international studies, and current events. Emphasis isplaced on the application of research and delivery techniques to supportdebate, dialog, and effective communication strategies, including SocraticSeminar and various analytical techniques. Instructional practices incorporateintegration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures andtheir important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology isan integral part of this course. This course fulfills one elective credit requiredfor high school graduation.

Prerequisites: 12thgrade standingDual credit classwith UNLV EDU210 (NevadaSchool Law)$50 fee to UNLV(Taking the classfor dual credit isnot required)
