This one-year course provides students who have achieved allcontent standards in Early Childhood Education an advanced studythrough investigation and in-depth research. The student collaborateswith the supervising teacher to design and implement the topic ofstudy. Coursework may include various work-based learningexperiences such as internships and job shadowing, involvement in aschool-based enterprise, completion of a capstone project, and/orportfolio development. Instructional practices incorporate integration ofdiversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and theirimportant contributions to society. The appropriate use of technologyis an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the electivecredits required for high school graduation and may be repeated.
