This one-year course is designed for students who have successfullycompleted two years of physical education. This course providesstudents with a comprehensive understanding of lifetime sports andrecreational activities.Students focus on improving sports skills,participating in lifelong sport and recreational activities, and improvingfitness levels while working at moderate to vigorous levels for a minimumof 50% of the instructional time. Instructional practices incorporateintegration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all culturesand their important contributions to society. The appropriate use oftechnology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of theelective credits required for high school graduation.
