This one-year course introduces students to the basic methodsinvolved in teaching. Topics to be considered include elements of alesson plan, preparation of lesson plans, and understanding thediverse classroom needs in both elementary and secondary contentareas. Actual classroom observations and teaching experiences inearly childhood, elementary, and/or middle school settings areintegrated into this course. Instructional practices will incorporateintegration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all culturesand their important contributions to our society. The appropriate useof technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills oneelective credit required for high school graduation.
