This one-year course is designed for students who have a career interestin marketing. The student will observe marketing from the standpoints ofboth a consumer and a businessperson. This course covers the majorfunctions of marketing such as selling, advertising, visual merchandising,pricing, promotion, product planning, and basic economic concepts. Othertopics include: job interviewing, human relations, communications, andcurrent events as related to marketing. This course should providestudents with an understanding of competencies necessary for success inthe initial employment in marketing and marketing related careers.Participation in Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), anassociation of marketing students, is an integral part of the instructionalprram.h couse wil ulfill eelectietequschool graduation.
