Beginning level Chinese is designed to introduce students to the Chinese language and the culture of Chinese-speaking people. Students will use the four language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing to attain proficiency and the ability to communicate in Chinese. Major topics include: introduction to Chinese characters and pronunciation; greetings, family & friends; numbers, telling time & calendar dates; school information & daily routines; foods $&$ clothing; holidays & festivals; Chinese culture.
