North Stafford High – Production Systems

Students understand how products are designed, manufactured, and marketed to the public. This course will also give students the opportunity to experience the construction trades such as drafting, carpentry, cabinetmaking, line production, and assembly line production techniques. A working knowledge of design and problem solving, research and development processes, and materials will be an integral part of this course. Project Lead The Way, a project-based curriculum designed to engage students in problem solving and STEM learning. To earn the recognition, the student must satisfactorily complete three courses in the pathway – one AP course; one PLTW course; and a third course, either AP or PLTW – and earn a qualifying score of 3 or higher on the AP Exam(s) and a score of Proficient or higher on the PLTW End of Course (EOC) assessment(s). Project Lead the Way courses are weighted as 0.50 additional credit (this includes both Biomedical and Engineering).
