North Stafford High – Cosmetology I

Prerequisite: Regular attendance is a requirement to meet clinical hours mandated by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR). In Cosmetology I students begin to develop their skills and technical knowledge relating to all textures of hair as they practice in a clinical lab setting for services such as hair shaping, finger waving, manicuring, and pedicuring. Additional areas of study include physiology, ethics, and professional image, along with proper disinfection procedures. Regular attendance is essential to be successful and continue in this program (a student must have earned a minimum of 325 hours in Cosmetology I to be eligible to move on to Cosmetology II).
