Prerequisites: This course is to prepare students to take the Advanced Placement Art Exam at the end of the year. The prerequisite for this course is a strong background in drawing and/or painting and is for students that are highly motivated and seriously interested in the study of art. Students will develop a portfolio of college-level drawings and paintings that will highlight their strengths and focus on the three aspects of the AP portfolio which are: concentration, breadth, and quality. To show such high quality work students should be aware that this class involves significantly more time outside the classroom than a typical art class. Students will be responsible to provide their own sketchbook and any other supplies not provided in the classroom.
