North Harford High – MU67W: Honors Chorus
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
This is a weighted honors performance course offered to advanced chorus students in grades 11-12, who show an interest in being a peer mentor/tutor and future music teacher or music major in college. Students will be eligible to take this class through an interview process. Honors Chorus further develops and refines fundamental and advanced vocal techniques including correct breathing, proper tone placement, and pure vowel pronunciation. Achievement of desired choral blend and balance of parts through application of proper singing skills is stressed. Skills in score reading are further developed through student-led rehearsal of music literature representative of a diversity of styles. Along with having regular written and reading assignments, in-class student and teacher evaluations, students will become leaders in daily classroom activities, planning with the teacher. This is a performing organization requiring out-of-school time including evenings and possible weekends. Students taking this course must accept the responsibility of attending outside-of-school performances which are graded. Students may take this course more than one time.
