Norco High – Mechatronix 1a-1b

This semester long course course is designed to introduce students to the manufacturing and logistics industries by engaging students in interdisciplinary learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) through a hands-on, project based approach. Students will learn to implement industrial safety practices according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, develop skills in print reading and tool and machinery use, increase understanding of the applied physics concepts utilized in hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, apply logic concepts through AC and DC electrical programming activities, and expand creative abilities through the design of multi-dimensional models using computer aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks which are then produced through production methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3d printing or others.
