Norco High – Chinese 3a-3b Honors

Chinese 3A-3B Honors is designed to prepare students for the rigor of the 4th year Advanced Placement Course. This Chinese 3A-3B Honors course will bring the students an opportunity to refine their four language proficiency skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing in the intermediate to Advanced-level range across the three communicative modes (Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational) and the California World Language Standards (Content, Communication, Culture, Structures and Settings). This course provides the students an opportunity to immerse in the richness of Chinese Language and Culture by comparing Chinese-speaking cultures with his/her own culture and presenting selections from a variety of literature and media. Students are required to speak in Chinese as much as possible to increase their confidence in applying target language at home, at school, and in the community.
Prerequisites: "B" or better in Chinese 2A-2B or teacher recommendation.
