Norco High – Art for Illustration 1a-1b

This course addresses many aspects of illustration with emphasis on line drawing, strip cartoons, and animation. Projects may include the use of cartooning, line drawing, story strips and boards, sculptural forms and computer animation as a communication tool. As the student progresses through the course, a high level of personal creativity will be stressed to communicate ideas, events, and personal perspectives. The history of illustration, cartoon, and animation will be covered. Students will maintain a portfolio that will include a journal, sketches, and other pertinent works of art.
Prerequisites: Visual Arts 1A-1B or equivalent
