Niwot High School – Intermediate Painting

Students will continue to build skills in the areas of paint application, brush and technique exploration, as well as build an understanding of different styles of painting through a historical view. Students will construct their own canvases, and begin to take more ownership of their project choices. Emphasis will be placed on historical exposure, palette and style development, and portraiture. Students will be expected to work outside class time, participate in critiques and discussions, maintain a sketchbook with skill building exercises and mat/wire their work for showings.
